Love Howick is officially spreading its wings and soaring to new heights under a vibrant new name: Love uMngeni.

Howick, South Africa (04 February 2026) – Love Howick, a non-profit organisation dedicated to community upliftment, has undergone an awesome rebrand, now known as Love uMngeni!

This isn’t just a name change; it’s a celebration of growth. As the team’s heart for the community has expanded, so has its reach. By evolving into Love uMngeni, they are embracing the entire uMngeni Local Municipality, ensuring that no neighbourhood is left behind and every voice is heard.

While the name changes and its initiatives have increasingly extended beyond the immediate boundaries of Howick, Love uMngeni assures that it will retain its core mission and the dedicated team that has driven its success.

“Our projects have consistently led us to engage with communities in places like Mpophomeni, Hilton, and Lions River,” explained Matt Hogarty, CEO of Love uMngeni.

“This rebranding to Love uMngeni is a vital step in formalising our commitment to these areas and better reflecting the comprehensive reach of our efforts. It allows us to serve a bigger footprint, ensuring that our impact is felt across the wider uMngeni region where needs are prevalent.”

The Same Mission, Led by the Same Team

Love uMngeni will continue to focus on its established mission of fostering positive change through community development, social support, skills development and collaborative projects.

The same passionate team will remain at the helm, ensuring continuity and the sustained quality of its programmes. This rebranding is not merely a change in name but a clear signal of an expanded vision and a deeper integration into the diverse communities of uMngeni.

A Note on Existing Partnerships

Importantly, this expansion also highlights existing partnerships. Love uMngeni will not be extending its operations into Nottingham Road, as its long-standing partners, Love Notties, are already doing an exemplary job in serving that community.

Love Mpophomeni, which is supported operationally by Love Howick, will be absorbed into the new Love uMngeni team, offering enhanced support to the greater area. This collaborative approach underscores the commitment to effective resource allocation and strengthening the collective impact of community-focused organisations in the region.

Bringing More Hope, More Help, and More Love to uMngeni

The transition to Love uMngeni marks an exciting new chapter, promising greater synergy and more profound community impact across a wider geographical area within the uMngeni Local Municipality.

Feel free to be a part of this exciting new chapter by signing up to volunteer or donate monthly via the website www.loveumngeni.org.za.
