The new instalment in the Dungeons & Dragons universe is written and directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, both of whom grew up as avid D&D players. Apart from knowing the game well, they have already shown a talent for both uproarious comedy and stirring heroics, having written the screenplay for Spiderman: Homecoming starring Tom Holland, as well as Horrible Bosses and its sequel.
Although it is based on the board game of the same name, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will appeal to all moviegoers who enjoy a fun-filled comedy action adventure. Audiences do not need to know anything about the game to appreciate the on-screen experience.
The story follows a charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers who undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people. The film brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure.
