Things have been quite busy at the Good Work Foundation campuses. Teachers are getting a boost of inspiration, learners are being schooled on robotics and maths is getting a fun makeover – all to inspire youngsters to reach their full potential and prove that learning can be fun!
Mpumalanga, South Africa (12 February 2025) – February has been an epic ride of learning and discovery at The Good Work Foundation (GWF), with a range of inspiring initiatives taking place across their digital learning campuses, including recycling and robotics.
Educators from Siyamukela Primary School participated in a valuable teacher training session, equipping them with new tools and strategies to enhance their classroom impact.
The Grade 8 and 9 learners from Madlala High experienced the exciting world of tech at the Justicia Digital Learning Campus, exploring coding and robotics and gaining insights into potential future careers. Kids also got hands-on with unplugged coding when they learned the basics of programming without screens.
“At our Philippolis Digital Learning Campus, they took it a step further, using a soccer ball to play a fun and interactive coding game,” GWF shares.
Maths and literacy were also on the agenda as the Grade 4 learners from Babati Primary School were involved in an engaging session, where they explored the four fundamental maths operations and sound recognition.
The month also saw a graduation ceremony, a significant milestone, held under the “digital tree” at the Hazyview Digital Learning Campus.
GWF’s commitment to sustainability and community development was further exemplified by the launch of its new recycling program in partnership with a network of local schools.
“Never ones to rest on our laurels, training for our recycling champions from each campus commenced at our Huntington Digital Learning Campus.
“All of our gardeners and cleaning staff learned about the power of recycling and how to achieve success in the circular economy. We can’t wait to see the halo effect of this programme on our campuses and in schools.”
GWF is all about providing access to world-class digitally empowered education to rural African communities and it is these kinds of initiatives and activities that ignite a passion for education and learning in youngsters and communities.
We’re excited to see participants reap all the rewards of these innovative and invaluable programmes.
