South African school spirit has taken the world by storm! A high-energy war cry from Curro Durbanville has racked up over 35 million views, captured hearts across the globe, and even caught the attention of Hollywood actress Jennifer Garner – all in just two days!

Western Cape, South Africa (24 February 2025) – South African school war cries have a way of bringing people together. The energy, the rhythm, the sheer passion – it’s something special! Over the years, we’ve seen plenty go viral, showcasing the incredible school spirit that exists across the country. If you’ve somehow missed these, we’ve shared a few before, and you can check them out here.

Now, another war cry is making waves, and this time, it’s putting Curro Durbanville in the global spotlight.

Two days ago, Tania Page, a Curro mom, posted a video of the school’s war cry to her social media. What happened next? Pure internet magic. The video exploded, racking up over 35 million views and millions of likes across platforms.

“I never expected this to go viral,” says Page. “As a mom, my first thought was about how powerful social media can be, especially for children. It’s a reminder of how one moment can connect millions across the world.”

And connect it did. The video, bursting with high-energy school spirit, quickly gained traction. Then came the ultimate endorsement – Hollywood actress Jennifer Garner shared it on her Instagram story, catapulting it to an even wider audience. Suddenly, what started as a moment of school pride turned into a global sensation.

“I’m so happy to have played a part in showcasing CuRRo on a global scale. They do incredible work in education, and it’s amazing to see a school from Cape Town, South Africa, getting this kind of international attention,” Page adds.

“The response has been unbelievable, and seeing people worldwide celebrate this moment with us has been truly special.”

Negativity often takes centre stage, but it’s refreshing to see something as simple as a school war cry uniting people across continents. Curro Durbanville has reminded us all that passion, pride, and a little bit of South African gees can go a very long way!
