This year the Senior Santa Shoebox reached so many deserving seniors with gifts and goodies to bring them the festive cheer.

Cape Town, South Africa (15 December 2021) – The Senior Santa Shoebox project focuses on giving back to seniors in the Western Cape with simple gifts.

The Senior Santa Shoebox charity has gone from strength to strength since starting in 2015. This year, the organisation reached hundreds more elderly people, ensuring they each got a treat, a gift and a festive party.

Planning starts months in advance, and the team collects names, ages, and a few details about each of the recipients from the participating old age homes. Then they allocate the names to people who want to make up a gift box.

This year, they held their drop-off days at several shopping malls in the Western Cape. Hundreds of boxes were delivered to the team for the elderly.

Once the gifts were rounded up, the Christmas parties could start being planned.

Take a look at one of the wonderful parties below.
