As the magic of Christmas begins to build, the Soweto Animals Rescue and Advisory Centre is preparing to show its deepest gratitude to its youngest and most selfless rangers, who selflessly dedicate their spare time between school and chores to nurturing rescue animals.

Westonaria, South Africa (30 September 2025) – Children often bring an infectious energy and fresh perspective that can revitalise any community. With their boundless curiosity and natural empathy, they frequently lead the way in simple acts of kindness.

This is easily seen in the Westonaria area, where little people selflessly dedicate their spare time and efforts to helping out at the Soweto Animals Rescue and Advisory Centre (SARAC).

Some of their activities at the shelter include socialising, walking, feeding, playing and interacting with the rescue animals who more often than not require a lot of love and care as they undergo rehabilitation and await adoption.

And now, as Christmas excitement starts to build in the air, SARAC wants to show love to its youngest volunteers, dubbed the “rangers”, by making the 2025 Rangers Party a party to remember.

“It’s time to spoil the community children who help SARAC with the rehabilitation process of our rescues. This Christmas Party is our way of saying thank you for being our ambassadors and also for being the voice for the voiceless,” SARAC said.

The organisation has already started sharing social media posts of its rangers who can be sponsored with essential items like shoes, uniform, school supplies and a special Christmas gift.

These are children who offer their unfiltered love and honest input to an organisation committed to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing. Children who don’t just receive from their communities but also actively contribute to it too.

“Please join us in making this year’s Christmas Party a memorable one. We would also appreciate the sponsorship for the event,” SARAC appealed.

The celebration will be held on 6 December 2025. For more information, email
info@sarac.co.za or visit SARAC’s Facebook page for updates.
