This October, SPAR and Cancervive turn every 500ml of water into hope, raising awareness and support for cancer education across South Africa.

South Africa (02 October 2025) – October in South Africa carries a special meaning, a reminder of the battles fought and the victories won against cancer, and the ongoing work still needed to bring hope and healing to families across the country.

This year, SPAR Private Label is once again joining hands with Cancervive, a vibrant survivor-led organisation dedicated to breaking down myths, raising awareness, and ensuring life-saving information reaches even the most remote corners of our country. With every purchase of a 500ml SPAR Still Water this October, a portion of the proceeds will be donated directly to Cancervive to help amplify their mission. You will know you are buying the right bottle by spotting the pink square.

Cancervive’s story began with breast cancer survivors who set out on bold motorcycle journeys, using the open road as a stage to spread their message of life and resilience. From those journeys grew a nationwide movement that continues to bring awareness and education to underserved communities, where access to cancer information is often limited. Today, Cancervive champions early detection, offers hope through survivor stories, and reminds us all of their powerful truth: “Creating awareness to save lives.”

For SPAR, supporting Cancervive isn’t just about a campaign; it’s about community. Every bottle of water purchased this month becomes part of a larger ripple effect: a conversation started, a stigma broken, a life possibly saved.

As Cancervive puts it, no one should face cancer alone. And with simple, everyday choices, even something as simple as a bottle of water, South Africans can stand together in solidarity, ensuring that knowledge, hope, and support reach those who need it most.
