It is that time of year again when all the new and old Christmas movies are released to help everyone get into the festive spirit and as always, we have a list of what to watch this season!
South Africa (07 November 2022) – Have you started the countdown to the festive season yet? Or maybe you are just counting down the days until you get to take a break, either way, you can do it by watching a few feel-good holiday movies.
Christmas isn’t only about decking the halls, buying up all the gifts, and all the usual commercial things we have grown used to. Christmas is about family and sharing the love. It is about spreading joy and celebrating new life. And we can all use a bit more of spreading love and joy!
Walking through the local mall this weekend, it was evident that the festive season is already well underway. There was festive music playing and the halls were well and truly decked!
If you haven’t noticed yet, the Christmas Spirit is strong in the Good Things Guy office. We love the festive season; it brings the very best out in people. It is the one time of year when everyone feels the same kind of excitement and spreads joy to those around them.
Everything comes in an advent these days, gone are the days where you popped a simple misshaped, practically melted bit of chocolate out a numbered door, now you get gin, beers, candles, beauty products, and more in advent calendars. This inspired us to do an advent-style post and this is our fourth annual list.
We want to share all the must-see (or rewatch) movies leading up to Christmas morning. These movies are all designed to make you feel super festive. They are not listed in any particular order so pick and choose as you feel, and enjoy your Christmas movie lead-up to the 25th.
These movies will start popping up on all available channels, keep an eye out on DSTV, Netflix, Showmax, Disney+, and whichever other services you use, or if you are like us, you may have a few of the classics stashed away on DVD. A quick search (just type in Christmas) on your selected platform will bring up all the Christmassy goodness you need! There is even a chance to head to the cinema this year!
This year, Lindsay Lohan is making an acting come-back with “Falling for Christmas”. Lohan plays an heiress who has an accident and forgets who she is. Take a look at the trailer below.
Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell (of Elf fame) have a movie coming out called “Spirited” – They shared a funny earworm song in September that still has us laughing! The movie is based on “A Christmas Carol” but with a hilarious twist. Take a look below.
With that and what we estimate to be thousands of hours of options, there is no better time to start than now. Or if you want to wait, start on the 25th of November to have one movie each day.
