Vintage Clothing

Vintage with Love is using fashion to give South African Charities a helping hand and help people find unique vintage clothing items.

Vintage with Love is a platform for women to be a part of a project to raise money for reputed literacy programmes in South Africa. They can do this by simply clearing out their wardrobes. The project is inviting women in Johannesburg, Cape Town and elsewhere in South Africa, as well as designers and boutiques, to donate their once loved fabulous fashion items to a good cause.

The idea is to collect the ‘vintage’ clothing, shoes and accessories that are not worn anymore but are still in perfect condition. All the vintage garments collected will be sold at pop-up sales, where the public can buy the beautiful vintage goods. All the proceeds will be donated to literacy charities.

The project was started by Leigh Ord and Jacquie Myburgh Chemaly as a way to give back to people in need. The charities they support are located in different parts of South Africa. In Johannesburg, they support: ‘The Click Foundation’, The Link’, ‘Columba Leadership Acadamy’, ‘The Lunchbox Fund‘, the ‘Realema Teacher Internship Programme’ and the ‘Thandulwazi Maths and Science Academy’.

In Cape Town, the funds go towards: ‘Partners for Possibility’, ‘Chic Mama’s do Care’, ‘The Click Foundation’ and ‘Shine Literacy‘. You can find out more detail about each charity here.

“Most importantly, we need you and your friends to donate your once-loved fashion to our sale and then we need you all to come shopping at the biggest vintage sale Joburg and Cape Town has ever seen!”

If you would like to donate some clothing, simply call Vintage with Love on 079-521-9090 or 082-415-7720, or email info@vintagewithlove.co.za and they will collect the clothes from you. You are also welcome to drop off your donation at one of the collection points in both Joburg and Cape Town. You can find all the drop-off points here.

The next sale will be taking place in Joburg on the 1st of June 2018 at the Campus on Main Road in Bryanston. You can find out more information here.
