Michael J. Fox joined Coldplay on stage at Glastonbury for a heartwarming and inspiring performance of “Fix You,” highlighting the unifying power of music.
Global (01 July 2024) – Music is a universal language that bridges our differences and unites us. Often, we find moments that highlight the unifying power of melody and rhythm. This past weekend, Glastonbury experienced a moment like this when Michael J. Fox, beloved actor and Parkinson’s disease advocate, joined Coldplay on stage, delivering a performance that moved everyone to tears of joy.
Michael J. Fox, known for his iconic roles in film and television, has been open about his battle with Parkinson’s disease since his diagnosis in 1991. Despite the challenges posed by this progressive neurological disorder, Fox continues to inspire with his unwavering spirit and love for life. His recent appearance at Glastonbury showcases his resilience and passion for music.
The 63-year-old actor played guitar with Coldplay on their hit song “Fix You” at the massive UK music festival.
“Glastonbury all the love and thanks to the Coldplay team who took such great care of us. And many thanks to Chris, Will, Johnny, Guy and Phil,” Fox expressed in a social media post, accompanied by a series of photos capturing his memorable time at the festival.
“Oh yeah in case you were wondering…it was f*cking mind blowing. There is a time for every band and a band for every time. This is Coldplay’s time.”
This wasn’t the first time Fox and Coldplay shared the stage. They previously performed together in 2016 during a show in New Jersey, creating another unforgettable experience for fans.
The BBC shared a video of this weekend’s performance which is gaining global traction, highlighting frontman Chris Martin’s touching tribute to Fox.
“The main reason we’re in a band is because of watching ‘Back to the Future,’” Martin said, acknowledging the profound influence Fox had on them. “Thank you to our hero forever and one of the most amazing people on Earth, Mr. Michael J. Fox. Thank you so much Michael, our hero.”
As the final chords of “Fix You” echoed through the festival grounds, it wasn’t just the music that resonated with the audience, it was the palpable sense of hope, joy, and unity that filled the air.
