Who knew Spur had karaoke sessions? But more importantly, and thankfully, this singing session at the Kenilworth branch just introduced us to Connor Foster!

Western Cape, South Africa (22 November 2025) – Parents were chatting, kids were colouring, waiters were dodging milkshakes… and then a young man grabbed the mic and silenced an entire Spur with a voice no one saw coming.

That young performer is Connor Foster, and his song of choice was “Listen” from Dreamgirls, a song that demands control, emotion and courage. Connor had all three. And then some.

The moment he started singing, the energy in the room shifted. Within seconds, the crowd was cheering him on, completely floored by the talent pouring out of this small but mighty performer.

The video of the performance, posted by Naeem Hussain on TikTok, has exploded with over 50,000 likes and more than 500,000 views. South Africans from every corner of the internet are rallying behind this rising star, sending love in the comments and sharing the clip like proud extended family.

And the reactions say it all.

“Why am I crying at work 😭😭”

“He’s extremely talented! And so confident 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 he is bound for success.”

“Why am I getting emotional for a stranger on the internet at 6:12 in the morning 😭 stunning young man!”

People are connecting with more than just his voice; they’re connecting with the moment… the joy, the surprise, the raw talent and the way Connor lit up an entire restaurant without even trying to. It’s the kind of thing South Africans love: pure heart, pure talent and pure positivity.

Wherever this young star is headed next, one thing is certain: Mzansi is already cheering for him.
