A young Sharks Reitz Week player is asking for support after earning the opportunity to compete at one of the world’s biggest rugby sevens tournaments.

Durban, South Africa (07 July 2026) – When Lisakhanya Majola first picked up a rugby ball at the age of 14, he had one goal in mind, and that’s to become the best player he could be. Through countless hours of hard work, that dream has continued to grow.

Now, the young rugby player has earned selection for the Sharks Reitz Week squad and has been given the opportunity to represent his team at the Dubai 7s Tournament this November. Rugby sevens continues to grow around the world, and looking at the Blitzboks recent run in sevens, this could be a young player who will one day don the green and gold. This tour offers the chance to test himself on an international stage and could be another important step towards one day following in the footsteps of the country’s sevens stars.

For Lisakhanya, the tour is also about experiencing a new country and proudly representing his school, community and everyone who has supported him along the way.

To help make the trip possible, he has launched a crowdfunding campaign to assist with travel, accommodation, tournament fees and other tour expenses. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will help him get one step closer to turning this opportunity into reality.

For those who would like to support Lisakhanya’s journey to the Dubai 7s Tournament, you can follow the crowdfunding link here.
