She first arrived with warm clothing, goodies and thoughtful care packs for palliative care residents. A week later, she came back with 40 more!
Johannesburg, South Africa (19 August 2026) – A kind-hearted South African named Megan recently brought a generous collection of comfort items to the residents of Park Care Centre.
Her donation included warm socks, hoodies, thoughtful care packs and goodies for the centre’s Sensory Room. Each item had been chosen with the residents and their needs in mind.
Park Care Centre has been caring for people for more than 60 years. The organisation provides round-the-clock residential nursing and palliative care to 320 residents, ranging from young adults to people over the age of 100. Most are older and living with chronic illness or frailty.
A donation as simple as a warm hoodie or a cosy pair of socks can brighten a day and bring loads of comfort to residents receiving long-term care there. Megan’s donations gave residents something that had been prepared especially for them, which more than surely sparked a few smiles.

“A heartfelt thank you to Megan for her generous donation of warm socks, hoodies, goodies for our Sensory Room and thoughtful care packs for our residents.” the centre shared.
Megan’s first drop-off at the centre was already an incredibly generous one. Then, around a week later, she returned to Park Care. This time, she brought another 40 care packs!
“And then, just when we thought her kindness had already touched so many lives, Megan returned about a week later with another 40 care packs!” Park Care shared.
“Thank you, Megan, for caring, for giving, and for coming back to give even more. Your kindness is truly appreciated by everyone at Park Care Centre.”
Not everyone can arrive with 40 care packs, of course. But Megan’s kindness shows that helping begins with paying attention to what people around us might need. She had already given generously and still chose to come back with more. Whether it is one care pack or 40, taking the time to make someone feel considered will always count.
