The great foundation disaster of 2026 began with something every parent knows all too well…a little too much quiet.

Stellenbosch, South Africa (18 August 2026) – This is a cute one, but it’s also a precautionary tale for all parents-to-be. Hide your make-up bags. Or, like, anything spreadable. Before they turn two!

We cackled at this Facebook post.

Entrepreneur, content creator and mother Lauren Leigh van Rooyen shares that her son Daniel had managed to get his hands on her foundation…a product as ‘impenetrable as a top secret government facility’ and one that ‘covers up the sins of your past life’.

Unfortunately for mom, it also covered up most of Daniel’s face. He became…the orange man.

“Daniel what have you done,” she wrote, “This is what 6 months plus of Estee Lauder Maximum Wear foundation looks like. It was in this very moment the dumpling knew he messed up.”

“….This mom spent over 90 minutes trying to wash Donald Trump off her 2 year old with the patience of a frayed last nerve hanging on for dear freaking life. Let’s not talk about the lovely artwork of said gorilla foundation all over my ottoman and WHITE duvet cover. I repeat this foundation is from the pits of Mordor itself once it makes contact with cotton.”

A funny but teachable moment. Parents everywhere now have one more golden rule to add to the list – if your toddler is suspiciously quiet… investigate immediately!

“Light a candle in remembrance of my Maximum Wear. And let this serve as a reminder that SILENCE is ALWAYS suspicious. I’m done adulting for the week.”
