Annika and Tindra Langa navigate different stages of their skating careers while sharing the same passion for the sport.

South Africa (15 April 2026) – On the ice, Annika Langa and Tindra Langa may share the same space, but their journeys into skating couldn’t be more different.

Now competing in the Senior Ladies division, Tindra is focused on growth and expression in her skating.

“My goal is to keep improving my technical elements and to skate more from the heart,” she says. “I want to enjoy every performance and show who I am on the ice.”

That mindset has been shaped close to home.

“She always reminds me why I started skating and that it’s important to enjoy the journey.”

For Annika, the journey looks very different. Having grown up competing in Sweden, she stepped away from the sport after a disappointing performance. Years later, it was Tindra’s involvement that brought her back.

“Sharing the ice with my daughter is incredibly special,” Annika says. “It’s a rare privilege to experience the same passion side by side. It has brought us closer and created memories I will always treasure.”

Returning to the sport in her 50s has come with its challenges.

“The biggest challenge is definitely the physical side. As an adult, your body doesn’t recover as quickly, and fear can play a bigger role. But mentally, I am stronger now. I skate because I want to, not because I feel I have to.”

Their coach, Dino Quattrocecere, says that separation is key.

“On the ice, they are two separate entities. They each have their own goals, their own challenges, and their own path.”

He believes their differences are what make the partnership work.

“Annika brings maturity, discipline, and life experience. Tindra brings youth, energy, and a natural ease.”

Side by side, they continue carving out their own paths and proving that passion, at any stage, can still find its edge.
