The festive season is fast approaching, and the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital is inviting you to give a gift of comfort and care to little ones in need.
Johannesburg, South Africa (25 November 2025) – The Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital (NMCH) is an initiative as ambitious as Madiba himself, aiming to ensure that no child is denied medical care due to financial constraints.
As the festive season approaches, the NMCH calls on those who can make a difference to keep the littlest and most vulnerable in their thoughts.
Currently, the hospital is running the “Share the Happy, Give a Nappy” campaign, which aims to secure a year’s supply of nappies for newborns, infants, and critically ill children in its care.
Every year, the NMCH uses approximately 80,000 nappies to care for newborns, infants, and critically ill children in its wards.
“These nappies are a simple yet vital necessity that ensures our young patients remain clean and comfortable during their hospital stay,” says Jani van Rooyen, NMCH Communications and Marketing Manager.
As a registered NPO, NMCH relies on the generosity of donors and partners to help us provide world-class, compassionate care to children from across South Africa and the continent.
This festive season, the children’s charity invites corporates, organisations and individuals to take part in the “Share the Happy, Give a Nappy” campaign.
“This initiative brings together companies, schools, families, and caring individuals to help us meet this essential need for the year ahead.”
