When South African Voices Meet Scottish Musician in Edinburgh

The Ndlovu Youth Choir teamed up with Edinburgh musician Eric for a joyful rendition of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”, creating a memorable cultural exchange.

Edinburgh, Scotland (12 August 2026) – The Ndlovu Youth Choir, currently in Edinburgh, has been making sure the city knows they are there, handing out flyers and inviting locals to come and experience their music.

But while spreading the word, the young South African singers found themselves in an even more memorable moment when they crossed paths with Eric, a musician from Edinburgh.

What followed was an impromptu collaboration, with the choir and Eric breaking into a lively rendition of the much-loved classic “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”.

The joyful moment captures exactly what cultural exchanges like this are about: sharing music and meeting new people. Proving once again that music has a wonderful way of bringing complete strangers together.
