South Africa stood together on the 7 April 2017 for a cause that affects every citizen in every province. These are some of the best pictures of South African pride.
Thousands of protesters demanding the resignation of President Jacob Zuma took to the streets in pickets, marches and human chains across South Africa on Friday, the 7th April 2017.
Many were protesting for the first time ever in civil action sparked by Zuma’s Cabinet reshuffle, which saw the finance minister Pravin Gordhan and his deputy Mcebisi Jonas fired. The rand fell against the US dollar and S&P and Fitch downgraded the country’s credit ratings to “junk status”
“If the ANC does to you what the Apartheid government did to you, then you must do to the ANC what you did to the Apartheid government.” – Nelson Mandela, Cosatu Conference, 1993
While paid twitter was desperately trying to undermine the marches and protests taking place today by trying to racially divide, South African’s didn’t take much time to listen and completely ignored the tweets and stood together for a common cause.

Even Desmond Tutu joined in on the day’s events! Showing the country that the President cannot get away with what he has anymore. Desmond Tutu was with his wife Leah even with his health set back he showed face with everyone else.
