The Angel Network had hoped to raise funds for 1200 backpacks needed for an upcoming event in aid of children but South Africans helped them with 1800!

Johannesburg, South Africa (14 November 2022) – This coming week, 1200 vulnerable and orphaned children will be coming together at Wanderers Cricket Stadium to have a festive party and they will all be gifted a fully-kitted backpack thanks to the generosity of South Africans.

The Angel Network spearheads several causes and has, on many occasions supplied thousands of essential items to people in need. This year, they had hoped to uplift 1200 orphans and vulnerable within the Gauteng region, by giving out fully-kitted backpacks. However, donors went above and beyond and the team has been able to put together 1800 backpacks.

The Angel Network works as a management organisation partnering with smaller organisations in need of funding and support. They rally their networks for help and then provide the aid needed to support smaller organisations. The organisation also supports individuals when they need it most.

Leading up to the festive season, the charitable organisation kicks it up a gear to reach as many people as possible. One of their annual festive drives is to raise funds to gift children stationery for the new school year. The annual campaign changes lives every year.

The goal this year is to gift 1200 backpacks filled with stationery, snacks, toiletries and a lunchbox with a bottle.

“Thank you to every single person that sponsored backpacks. We have way exceeded our target and now have 1 800 backpacks to pack this Thursday at the Wanderers cricket stadium.” – Glynne Wolman, The Angel Network

The Angel Network plans to hand out the backpacks this week so stay tuned to their social media pages to get updates. You can also support the other festive campaigns they run between now and the new year.
