Justin Coomber is about to embark on a journey that will see him cycle 2500km in one month to help raise funds to get children with disabilities, outdoors.

Cape Town, South Africa – Justin Coomber (22) an adventure/documentary photographer from Century City, Cape Town will begin a 2500km cycling journey from Musina in Limpopo to the Cape on the 3rd of May 2018, a course that will take approximately one month to complete.

“The idea to do the cycle initially came to me about 2 years ago. I was thinking of a challenge that would seem crazy for me to do and also of something that could help other kids that are in the same position I was in.I originally planned to do it last year but it just wasn’t the right time and feel that now, it finally is.” – says Justin.

With his campaign, Justin hopes to raise R 150 000.00 on donations based crowdfunding platform, BackaBuddy to support the Warrior on Wheels Foundation, an organisation that helps disabled kids get out into nature and experience it for themselves even with their physical or mental disabilities.

Drawing from his own personal experience, he know how it feels to be in a wheelchair, stuck indoors unable to experience nature.

“The reason I am doing this trip is to raise funds and awareness for kids with physical and mental disabilities. Coming from a background of medical issues and being paralyzed and left with permanent nerve damage. This is a challenge I want to face and overcome and to hopefully inspire others to get out there and challenge themselves as well. To not be complacent with what we have.” says Justin

Funds raised by Justin’s campaign will be administered by BackaBuddy and paid directly to the Warrior on Wheels Foundation.

Justin will also be documenting the journey in its entirety and hold an exhibition featuring the top photographs, selling them as another means of raising funds. Social media will play a crucial part in updating those invested in the cause along the way.

“Although Justin’s crowdfunding campaign is still in its infancy, he has already raised R2814.15 towards his fundraising target of R150 000 with contributions from 5 donors” – says Zane Groenewald, BackaBuddy, Marketing & Public Relations Officer.
