Say Cheese: A little bit of kindness has given this woman from KwaZulu-Natal a gleaming new smile.
KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (25 June 2021) – The FKN Army, founded by Malcolm Wentzel, is a movement started to create a positive impact on the lives of normal and hard-working people. Till now, they have helped several organizations and individuals through this movement.
Now they are back with yet another heartwarming deed.
Theresa Barnard, a woman from KwaZulu-Natal, has experienced the harshness of life in its entirety. She had a serious motorbike accident in her early years and had been injured severely in various parts of her body, mostly her teeth.
Unable to get any proper medical help around there, she had approached a local dentist to help her out only to realise later that the dentist was a hoax. After that, she managed with her injured teeth, super glueing them whenever they deteriorated or broke.
When asked why she didn’t take up any proper medical help, she says that it would have been too much for her to afford, considering she has to provide for her four young kids at home.
As time went by, she had to walk through her life with low self-esteem regarding her appearance. She couldn’t participate in normal things her family did because of her teeth’ inferiority.
Tragedy struck her and her family again in the next few years when one of her children was born still. It took a big toll on her mental health, building up unconscious stress inside her every day.
Amidst all this tragedy, she had gotten to know about the FKN army and had written to them, hoping to get some help. Now, the FKN army is helping her get a full makeover, including some treatments to get her teeth back to normal.
“I’m looking forward to being able to smile, smiling for my children and my husband,” says Theresa as she wipes her tears of happiness.
After a long day of shopping with the FKN team, getting a full makeover, including some intensive treatments for her teeth, Theresa walks with her head held high and a beautiful smile.
The FKN army has once again managed to bring a mighty change to the life of an ordinary person who was longing for a chance to smile again in her life.
