spar hero of the week

Amsterdam, Netherlands (18 November 2025) – You know you’re cool when you’re a South African musician whose South African fans make up most of your audience at a concert held all the way on the other side of the world, in Amsterdam.

Booshle G is one such cool musician.

This young musician from Kariega near Gqeberha, a former young pastor who always chased his music dream, has quickly risen in the South African music scene. His songs are as captivating as they inspire hope.

He recently shared an awesome video on his social media showing him addressing the crowd in between his performances. In one hand, he had a box of Ouma rusks and in the other, a packet of Fizzers – classic Mzansi snacks.

He playfully joked that he was sent by Checkers to bring the goods for his South African fans before opening up about how he was moved to make music that makes people feel like home, and that bringing these snacks along with him was his extra special way of bringing a bit of home to South Africans in Europe.

Judging by the thunderous cheers from the crowd in the video, his fans were overjoyed by the gesture. One lucky fan named Kyle walked away with the box of rusks, and one female fan was tasked with distributing the rusks as Booshle G resumed performing, singing his track “Take Me Home” as the crowd sang along.

His online audience was just as touched by his gesture, as they flooded the charismatic artist’s video post with heartwarming comments on Instagram and Facebook.

“You are so special and you make people feel so special,” shared Sindisiwe Gxumisa.

“You carry out the South African Ubuntu with you, champ. Can’t wait to see you in Kempton Park,” Motho Batho said.

“I love your music, brother, keep up the good work, bro. Carry on shining all over the world,” wrote Ngalo Mzoboshe Siphelele Sira.

Booshle G’s admitted that the heartfelt moment of connection also gave him a sense of belonging, even though he was so far away from home – in an unexpectedly sweet way, proving that music and a few beloved snacks can help bridge the distance and bring the warmth of South Africa to the other side of the world.
