This winter, you can help over 50 Border Collies stay warm; the team at Border Collie Rescue SA are sewing winter jerseys and they need help.
South Africa (09 June 2023) – Woof, it’s cold in here! Winter is on the way and to make it a cosy one, the Border Collie Rescue SA team are sewing jerseys for their rescues. The team shared that they have over 50 dogs on site and so sewing volunteers are needed to help them make enough jerseys in time.
Gill, who helps out at the organisation will be the go-to on this pawsome project. The pattern and fabric will be made available, they only need extra hands (and maybe your machine) to make the needed jerseys.
“We are looking for local sewers who can help us and sew dog jackets for our collies to keep them warm this winter. With over 50 collies in rescue, we really need a helping hand.
Our Gill will supply the patterns and materials and if you can donate an hour or two sewing to BCR that would just be pawfect.
If you think this sounds like you, or you know of someone who can pawssibly help, donate some sewing hours, we’d love to hear from you! Help us and be one of little yelpers!”
This weekend is set to be another snowy one in parts of South Africa and that always means a cold one for all! So if you have the time, live in Gauteng and want to sew for good, this is the job for you!
If you are free to assist, you can find out more about helping here.
