Irfaan Abrahams, a talented teacher, marks his 25th marathon towards completing 50 marathons for a higher purpose.
Western Cape, South Africa (5 August 2021) – The education sector of various countries across the globe has received a severe blow admits the times of the pandemic. The economic instability has prevented the education of many children, taking away their hopes for a better future. Irfaan Abrahams, at Liesbeeck Primary, has taken a step for a greater cause using his ability to run. In recent times, he has marked a milestone of finishing his 25th marathon, which is half of his goal of 50 marathons.
Abrahams is a skilled runner who started his project at the start of the year and is also part of an organisation called Lace Up 4 Change.
He invites people to participate as an audience in his marathons and donate any amount they can. This will go towards buying school shoes for the children. His ultimate goal is to raise enough for 50 schools. He has managed to raise money for two schools so far, each of which will need 450 to 500 pairs of shoes.
Abrahams and his fellow runners have extended the track covering the Bayview, Witsands areas and it is said that their next target is on Saturday in Muizenberg. They’ve been doing this in order to spread the word and increase awareness among the people.
With high hopes and determination, Abrahams continues on his journey of helping the children, thereby leading the next generation towards a better society.
His action has been an inspiration to people from around the world, and he has been getting the best wishes from them all.
