It may not seem like a big thing… until you find yourself in a position where you’ve left your ‘very full’ wallet, in a shopping cart by accident.

Iain Blackmore-Reed did just that and had pretty much written off the money and the wallet. He decided to check with the store management with the thought that hopefully someone had just returned his cards.

But Iain’s faith in humanity was completely restored after he found his wallet at the management offices, untouched and as he left it.

Claude, a car guard had found the wallet in a shopping cart & immediately taken it to the store management.

Iain took to Facebook to show his appreciation (after giving Claude a good tip and thanking him personally in an text message).

“To Claude, the honest car guard who returned my wallet to the Pick n Pay Douglasdale centre management yesterday after I’d left it in the trolley – Thank you. Words just cannot describe how your tiny gesture to do right made such a big difference to me and my outlook on car guards.”

“We’re often far too quick to get annoyed with them because we CAN park, we’re annoyed as they just say hello to let us know that they’re there. It would have been so easy to take the cash and turf the rest in order to get that tip…”

“But Claude, you did not.”

“You’re a good man and you’ll be blessed later on in life for certain.”

“Shout out to PnP management, and yet another reason I love living in this little village of ours!”

Since posting the thanks on Facebook, Social media has been buzzing with people wanting to thank Claude even more by helping him with job opportunities.

Aliki Yiannakis posted: “I hope someone on this page takes the opportunity and gives him a job where his morals and honestly will be appreciated!! He deserves a chance at a better life 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 well done Claude it’s people like you that make SA a place we are proud to call home”

Thank you Claude for doing what was right… and thank you Iain for reminding us that perspective is everything.
