Cetric Mphofela is a true environmental champion. Since 2021, he has proactively taken on the massive challenge of waste and pollution, one meaningful project at a time. Now, he’s planning his biggest quest yet – a long walk to preserve and protect Mother Nature.

Laezonia, South Africa (11 November 2025) – For as long as memory serves him, Limpopo-born Cetric Mphofela has been driven by a sense of kindness and a desire to assist others and protect the environment.
In 2021, he became actively involved in environmental initiatives, focusing on educating individuals about the importance of proper waste disposal and participating in painting projects in Pretoria.
The Laezonia resident is also the proud founder of the Cetric Mphodfela Foundation. He’s incredible efforts have gone far beyond simple awareness, as he’s also been involved in rescue efforts and promoting the preservation of Mother Earth, emphasising the need to refrain from unnecessary tree cutting.
Many streets overwhelmed with litter, and rivers severely affected by the negative impacts of illegal dumping know Cetric well, having participated in numerous clean-up initiatives across multiple areas in Gauteng, including the Hennops, Kaalspruit, Jukskei, Crocodile, Braamfontein Spruit, Diepsloot, Tembisa, Laezonia, as well as Limpopo.
“To date, I have organised 246 clean-up events, resulting in the collection of 234,566 bags,” Cetric shares with Good Things Guy.
Recently, he collected clothes dumped in the Chartwell Jukskei River and also has three more clean-up events in the pipeline in Laezonia and Limpopo, which will involve the participation of local children.
Looking ahead, Cetric is planning a major environmental conservation awareness walk from Pretoria to the Kruger National Park next June.
“My ultimate goal is to travel throughout South Africa, educating communities about environmental conservation and promoting collective responsibility for cleaning initiatives,” he says.
The environmental champion is currently seeking support in the form of sponsorships towards this mission, which is a testament to his continuous, proactive dedication to a healthier planet.
