The new campaign gives the Team Vitality community, as well as the wider Vitality community, an opportunity to honour Tsontso’s memory while supporting her loved ones.

South Africa (22 September 2026) – For a running community, showing up for one another is part of what makes every kilometre matter. Now, Team Vitality is putting that sense of community into action as it rallies around the family of Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo.

Tsontso was an avid runner and a dedicated member of the Team Vitality community. She regularly took part in Vitality events, including the Vitality Run Series, and had recently completed the Wanderers 21 km.

Following her passing, messages poured in from runners, teammates and supporters asking how they could help. The response has been a powerful reminder of the community that exists beyond the start and finish lines.

As her running club, Team Vitality has contributed towards her funeral arrangements and committed to continuing its support of her family, who have set up a BackaBuddy campaign for her daughter’s education. You can access and donate to the campaign here.

The next step is giving the wider community an opportunity to contribute too, through a dedicated Ðiscovery Miles donation campaign. Already, over R100,000 has been donated through the Team Vitality campaign.

Turning Ðiscovery Miles into meaningful support

From 16 September to 15 October 2026, Discovery Vitality members can donate their Ðiscovery Miles through the Team Vitality Donation Campaign.

Donations can be made in three amounts:

  • 200 Ðiscovery Miles – R20
  • 500 Ðiscovery Miles – R50
  • 1,000 Ðiscovery Miles – R100

A community that keeps showing up

The campaign reflects what Team Vitality has built around running. A community that connects people through movement and a willingness to support one another.

In Tsontso’s memory, that community is now using the same collective spirit to make a difference for the people she leaves behind.
