When Grace Outreach Chairperson Telicia Erasmus discovered a family of three living in their car in Milnerton, her heart broke, igniting an urgent plea to the public to get them into a home before Christmas.
Cape Town, South Africa (04 November 2025) – South Africans in all corners of the country are facing exceptionally tough times, an escalating need and battling daily hardships. The basic human right to dignity demands that no one should be left without a safe roof over their head, a secure and comforting place to call home. Yet, so many struggle without one.
Chairperson of the Grace Outreach charity, Telicia Erasmus, felt her heart drop and instantly break when she discovered a decent family of three living in their car during a recent outreach in Milnerton.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, life has hit them so hard and has kept them down for years,” Telicia explains.
“I have reached out to many in positions of leadership in the community where they are parked in a dangerous parking lot, and sadly, nobody has been able to assist.”
Concerned about the family’s well-being, Telicia further shared that she and her husband have been supporting them where they can. But the family longs for the day they get to move out of their car and each sleep in their own bed.
Telicia has now turned to the greater public to help this desperate family settle into a room, a Wendy house or any suitable accommodation before Christmas.
“Any support will be immensely appreciated. We are walking this journey with them and won’t give up until they are out of the car. I believe that by the broader community connecting hearts, we CAN help this family get back on their feet.”
If you are able to assist or offer support in the form of food or clothing, you are welcome to contact Telicia for more information by emailing Graceoutreach578@gmail.com or via WhatsApp on the contact details here.
