Disaster Relief

Gift of the Givers has been called upon to aid in Disaster Relief efforts around South Africa after the massive storm destroyed homes and schools.

Gift of the Givers is an organisation that specialises in disaster relief and management. They were a massive role player in organising relief efforts for the victims of the Knsyna and PE fires a few months back.

They have started to work around Gauteng to aid in the relief of people who have lost homes and become displaced by the massive storm that hit South Africa a few days ago.

Their Twitter has been filled with good deeds and helpful tweets.

Got the call at 8 am, responded by 10:30 with aid for Putfontein where 100 homes were damaged by #GautengStorms

The organisation also set up a feeding station that fed 2000 people in Zandspruit. They delivered Blankets, Fruit, Biscuits, Cereal and Face Cloths to the people in need. They teamed up with grocery store giants, Shoprite and Checkers to serve warm meals to the people waiting for help.

Gift of the Givers is also on standby to aid the victims of the KwaZulu-Natal Storms. They confirmed late yesterday that they are waiting for the go-ahead.

The organisation is always open to contributions. If you would like more information on how to help check out their website here.
