The Grace Factory is an NPO based in several South African provinces that works to support mothers of premature babies; they have made up some stunning gifts for World Prematurity Day.
Vaal, South Africa (15 November 2021) – The Grace Factory is a non-profit organisation that collects baby items at locations in Gauteng, the Vaal Triangle.
They then pack them into little gift sets and deliver them to new moms in government hospitals all over South Africa. The packs consist of basic necessities such as clothes, blankets, toiletries and nappies.
The Grace Factory in the Vaal packed 100 goodies bags to distribute in honour of World Prematurity Day on the 17th of November.
“We will be distributing these packs at a local public hospitals’ NICU and Kangaroo Care Unit.
Giving birth to a premature baby is extremely difficult, even more so when you lack the essentials for yourself and your teeny tiny baby. Mothers often travel very far to these units in emergency situations and rarely have practical support during their stay.
We cannot wait for the moms to receive their very own maternity packs filled to the brim with all those much-needed essentials”
People are welcome to send donations, and some women even crochet beanies, booties, blankets and other adorable premature baby items. Not only does the organisation welcome donors, but they also welcome volunteers to help pack the packs and hand them out at the hospitals.
