Kids have the most unexpected ways of making you believe in the magic of miracles just when you need it most! A young boy’s love for his grandmother has touched the hearts of many. Ten-year-old Jayden, with wisdom beyond his years, shares his heartfelt prayers and hopes for his grandmother, who is bravely facing breast cancer.
Pietermaritzburg, South Africa (26 November 2024) – A little boy’s heartfelt message and prayers for his ill grandmother, Lynda Goosen, who is bravely fighting breast cancer, is quite likely one of the most soul-stirring things you’ll see today.
Bravely sharing how much his granny means to him, Jayden expressed that while other 10-year-olds may dream about getting the latest car toy, dirt bike or a new Xbox, he simply dreams that his granny, whom he affectionately calls Nana, would get well soon.
“My Nana is a very special person to me. She teaches me how to cook, she lets me mostly do whatever I want. She used to take me to school every day when I was little. Nana found out not so long ago that she has cancer,” says young Jayden in a video.
With childlike innocence, Jayden explains the complexities of the disease in simple terms, comparing it to one of his beloved toys:
“Imagine a body as one big Lego city. Normally the pieces would know when to stop building but sometimes the pieces don’t stop building making a messy tower. That’s what cancer is. When your cells grow too much.”
The sweet boy went on to share that his Nana was on medicine that was causing her hair to shed but that it didn’t take away from how beautiful she was in his eyes. What he most looks forward to is getting to play, learn and enjoy the beach with her again when she finally completes her treatment.
Jayden even adorably recalled a funny moment when Nana fell into the pool, and he was there to pull her out. He can’t wait for the moment he gets to experience such fun with her again. His hope for her recovery is remarkably unwavering.
“I know my Nana is going to get better and I pray for her every night.”
As Jayden remains steadfast in his hopes to play with his Nana again soon, Lynda is currently undergoing chemotherapy with the following phase of treatment involving 30 sessions of radiation.
