Lauren Chamberlain posing nude on the cover of ESPN is EVERYTHING that is right in the world!
Global – Lauren Chamberlain is one of the best softball players in the world, and as good a role model as any kid of any gender could ask for. She decided to pose nude for a cover edition of ESPN, and her act of beauty is everything that is right in this world!
Lauren Chamberlain grew up in Orange County, CA, and began playing softball at eight years old. She has competed at every level; starting with rec-ball, competing as a D1 athlete, playing for Team USA, and now continuing her career as a professional player.
Her ultimate goal is to start transforming girls into women, not only athletically in softball, but emotionally and mentally off the field as well. Life has so much to offer, and young women need to know that they are capable and deserving of anything they put their mind to. A lot of noise can be made in this world by a woman, and Lauren wants to encourage them to do so.
Her reasoning to pose nude for the cover is everything that is right with the world!
“I said yes for the girls around the world who might see the issue and see someone who looks like them — someone who’s thicker, bigger, not as jacked as the typical athlete — and that could give them that boost to love their bodies.
Any time I went against my body and didn’t give it what it needed in an attempt to achieve a societal norm, I let myself down. Sometimes, in high school and early college when I was dealing with insecurities about my body, not eating was disrespectful to my body. Not giving it what it needs to perform to achieve a certain look. If we’re honest, it just became stupid at a certain point.
You’re after this unattainable look, this Instagram look, and it’s not achievable. I still deal with that insecurity. How am I not shaped and curved like that Instagram model?
But you know what?
She can’t hit a ball like me or move like me. She can’t do what I can do.”
