Twenty years on, and they’re still choosing each other.
Johannesburg, South Africa (11 September 2025) – Leanne Manas, the calm morning voice many of us grew up with, is celebrating two decades married to her husband, financial specialist Marc Menelaou.
They tied the knot in September 2005, built a family with their two kids, Alexandro and Gabriella, and have kept showing up for each other since.
If you only know Leanne from Morning Live on SABC 2, her impact stretches far beyond that.
She’s been on air since 2004 and celebrated 20 years on the show last year. A tenure few broadcasters anywhere can claim. She’s also a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador and, in 2022, received France’s National Order of Merit (Chevalier) for her contribution to journalism and social impact.
In short, she’s an incredible woman who has made her country so proud. Behind that all, though, is a woman who loves her partner to bits.
Celebrating 20 years of love with Marc this week, Leanne took to social media to share a sweet message for her hubby.
“Happy 20th anniversary to the man I would chose over and over again!! I adored you then and I think.. hang on … I DO adore you even more now! Can’t wait for more and more and more everything moments with you! You are stuck with me until forever!”
Leanne should always be celebrated for breaking big news and her steady presence through national highs and lows. But it’s also the quiet constant, a marriage that’s lasted two decades, that says just as much about character as any broadcast.
Behind the studio lights and super prestigious recognitions, there’s a strong love story doing the daily work of showing up. We love love!
