life story

Ouma Peggy was recently featured in a short film about her life and her passion for knitting jerseys for children. She has won our hearts over with her lovely nature.

Ouma Peggy is a woman we just can’t get enough of! The 83-year-old is inspiring many people with her generous heart. She has spent years knitting little jerseys for babies and children she meets on her errands.

Not only does she have a heart of gold, but she also has some great life advice for anyone who will listen.

“I love life! We so fortunate to be alive! Aren’t we?”

“Lovely, day after day, every day is a challenge! You never know whats going to happen or what is around the corner! It’s great to be alive and you must enjoy every minute of it!”

Ouma Peggy loves to knit and spends most of her day’s knitting. She says that she never has to buy wool, that it just keeps coming to her.

She knits tiny little jerseys and then keeps a few in her bag so if she sees a baby or a toddler she gives the mother one. She does it to see people smile even if they are not sure about her at first.

“What you receive is just wonderful. You don’t receive it in money. Just the pleasure of seeing their faces.”

She ends the video off by saying “I so badly want to be remembered” and we think that Ouma Peggy will be remembered for a very long time.

The video was filmed by Green Renaissance as part of their project to share positive stories. If there is one video you watch today, watch this one.
