A South African woman lost her engagement ring while doing some shopping, after searching for a few hours, she lost all hope. And then she got a phone call…

Abigail Gilchrist was shopping at her local store when she realised she had lost her engagement ring, her heart stopped and she tried to retrace her steps in the hopes that she would be able to find it.

Gilchrist went and did some shopping after work when the incident occurred. When walking out of the store, she remembered touching her finger and feeling her engagement ring, however driving down William Nicol on the way home she noticed it was gone and her heart stopped.

“In a flat panic I stopped on the side of the road and searched my boot, handbag, grocery packets, lifting up car mats, everything you could think of.

I rushed back to the store in a state, and some amazing ladies helped me search the parking lot and where I had parked my car for about an hour.”

Gilchrist spoke to the manager, Patrick, and he said he would look on the cameras right away and inform all his staff and they would look until they found it. She was hopeful but doubtful.

After looking for another hour, the distraught shopper eventually gave up hope and left to go home.

“When I was nearly home I got a call from Patrick, who said I need you to come back, I think we have found your ring!”

A lady was cleaning near till 1 and found the ring and immediately handed it to Patrick and his team.

Let me just say, when I hugged Patrick and thanked him I cried like a baby. Such incredible people work at William Nicol PNP, they were all so worried for me, supportive and comforting me the whole time. All the staff came together as a team to look for my ring for me.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the amazing staff at PNP William Nicol!! Especially Patrick, Neo and Albertina!!

Gilchrist snapped a pic of the team and shared it with her social media:
