Lwazi is a Make A Difference Leadership Foundation scholar and a 3rd-year medical student at the University of Stellenbosch, and his dream is to become a Cardiothoracic Surgeon.

What if the cure for cancer is trapped inside the mind of someone who cannot afford an education?

Being a part of the Make A Difference Leadership Foundation Scholarship Programme has enabled Lwazi to study Medicine, a dream he thought would be impossible as he was not in a position to financially afford a tertiary education.

Make A Difference Leadership Foundation has made his dream possible by comprehensively investing, supporting and developing his academic and leadership potential through our Scholarship Programme. The programme offers scholars like Lwazi, the opportunity to focus on their future by removing every barrier between their potential and future success.

Through a long-term, comprehensive and personal approach, every scholar is offered mentorship, leadership, academic and personal support through the duration of their high school and tertiary degree.

“Foundations like Make A Difference Leadership Foundation are necessary for our communities because they have a holistic approach towards youth development, they contribute towards the creation of leaders who are not only educated but also possess qualities that are necessary for successful leadership and improving the lives of others.” – Lwazi.

Lwazi chose to study medicine because it places him in situations where he can help people, as he believes that even the smallest good deed has a major impact on people, as it can inspire them to change and be better people.

His vision is that the communities he lives in should become better places because of people who are willing to lend a helping hand, that education should start at home before it starts at school so that our South African communities can develop young people who are education driven.

Lwazi, like many of our other future leaders, is focused, dedicated, acts for the greater good and sincerely wants to make a difference in his community.

“Being a part of MAD Leadership Foundation has also inspired me to dream bigger and aspire to be an agent of change in South Africa. The foundation has also contributed towards me being a better person and a good leader through its continuous leadership development opportunities.”

By choosing to support tomorrow’s leaders today, you really can change the course of someone’s life.
