2024 Mr South Africa Top 5 finalist Marnus Botha hopes to use his platforms for good and leave behind a meaningful legacy by contributing to causes that make a positive and lasting impact on his community.
Somerset West, South Africa (02 October 2025) – When he isn’t helping shape vibrant, sustainable urban environments for the future, 2024 Mr South Africa Top 5 finalist Marnus Botha is dedicated to making a positive contribution to meaningful social causes.
Born and raised in the small Klein Karoo town of Oudtshoorn, Marnus currently lives in Somerset West, where he enjoys life with his wonderful wife and beautiful baby boy.
In his professional life, he was recognised as one of the country’s Top 30 Young Planning Professionals by the South African Council for Planners in 2023.
In his personal capacity, he’s been privileged to make his mark in both the pageant and modelling industries. In 2025, he advanced to compete in Mister Global South Africa 2025, where he was awarded First Runner-up, along with the Public Choice Award and the Charity Award.
“These accolades reflected not only my dedication to the competition but also the support of the public and my ongoing commitment to meaningful social causes,” Marnus says.
“These accomplishments opened doors to collaborations with distinguished brands and businesses, where he has continued to establish a reputation for professionalism, adaptability, and creativity. Each partnership has strengthened his industry presence while allowing him to contribute to projects that combine artistry with purpose.”
He has also appeared in various media and collaborated with reputable local South African brands and businesses.
“In terms of charity work, I volunteer at the Somerset West Night Shelter, where I am actively involved in community events to raise money towards providing hope and dignity to the homeless. During the shelter’s annual fundraiser in July 2025, we raised R250,000 towards providing hope and dignity to the homeless.”
More than anything, Marnus hopes to continue using his platforms for good and leave behind a meaningful legacy by making a positive and lasting contribution, both professionally and within his community and personal life.
“I want to be remembered as someone who upheld the highest standards of professionalism and ethics. Overall, someone who motivated others to pursue their dreams, overcome challenges and strive for a better future no matter what their circumstances are.”
