Jozi dreamer Tiisetso Mashishi is not waiting to win the Miss Teen Grand South Africa title to start doing important work for the youth in our country. She has already started her own foundation, and is inspiring those around her with her determination to make change!

Johannesburg, South Africa (24 May 2024) — A Miss Teen Grand South Africa Finalist, 19-year-old Tiisetso Mashishi from Johannesburg has big plans for our country’s youth. And she’s not waiting to win a title to start embarking on her vision.

“Something that truly inspired me to enter the Miss Teen Grand South Africa pageant is the platform that it provides for young girls across the country to not only grow in empowering changemakers and leaders, but also to make a difference in their communities and helping make a lasting impact on the lives of those around them while having the opportunity to represent our beautiful rainbow nation, South Africa,” she says.

But Tiisetso is not wasting any time, and has already started making a difference for communities through her new foundation, “All Eyes On You”.

The Foundation’s aim is to empower and educate the youth through conversations and workshops around mental health, education and women’s health. By teaming up with schools, businesses and organisations, Tiisetso believes that some of the most important areas challenging the youth can be tackled, collaboratively and openly.

“‘All Eyes On You Foundation’ is a project that I have been working on behind the scenes for a long time,” Tiisetso says.

“It is a passion project that I would love to build and develop into something much bigger that creates an impact on a large scale. Mental health, education and women’s health have always been topics extremely close to my heart and I would love to use my skills and the platform that I have to make a difference and create a space where people (especially the youth) feel comfortable and safe and can gain the necessary skills they need to fulfil their dreams and become the best versions of themselves.”

Tiisetso hopes to own her own business too one day—one that provides resources for those struggling in the areas ‘All Eyes On You’ focuses on.

“Should I win Miss Teen Grand South Africa 2023, I would love to use the platform, especially through social media, to create a space where people throughout the country can better understand their health…a space where they can come for support, advice and encouragement and develop confidence and a love for who they are. But more than anything, I would love to become a beacon of hope, someone who people look forward to seeing and interacting with.

“My aim would be to become a friend, a sister and a mentor! Someone who provides inspiration and encouragement to everyone no matter where they come from or what they look like!”— Tiisetso Mashishi.
