Siphenkosi Nqoro, a petrol attendant, has graduated with an LLB from the University of Fort Hare; he credits his success to making the choice to study.
Mdantsane, South Africa (17 November 2021) – Petrol attendant come LLB graduate Siphenkosi Nqoro has credited his success to making the choice to study. He shared that he chose to make this happen, and it was that first step that inspired him to reach this point.
Siphenkosi is like many South Africans; he didn’t start his studies as soon as he left high school. The now 29-year-old decided to study at the age of 24 years old. He says it was that choice that drove him to success. He enrolled for a law degree at the University of Fort Hare in the Eastern Cape.
In an interview with Dispatch Africa at his workplace, Siphenkosi shared his pride in graduating this year. He is currently a petrol attendant at the Shell garage in Mdantsane.
“My journey has been a very, very wonderful one. I have been studying while on the other side, I was working full time as a petrol attendant”
“I would say that my journey has been inspired firstly, by me after choosing to take the first step which was studying”
Initially, Siphenkosi didn’t know how he would support his family, but it was his courage to just get started that helped him find a balance between his studies and supporting his loved ones.
Siphenkosi shared that he felt very supported by his fellow petrol attendants and the management at the Shell where he works.
