It’s officially our favourite time of year! The Australian Firefighters Calendar is back for 2027, and once again, these shirtless heroes are using their good looks to do a whole lot of good.
Australia (19 October 2026) – South Africa, we have some very important international news to share. The Australian firefighters are back, their shirts are off, the animals are adorable and millions are being raised for charity.
Yes, it’s that time of year again. And we consider it our civic duty to bring you this story. You’re welcome!
We’re not entirely sure how it happened, but back in 2020, Good Things Guy somehow connected with the team behind the Australian Firefighters Calendar. They started sending us their annual releases, and naturally, we started sharing them. 6 years later, here we are again. And judging by the reaction from our readers every single year, this has become one of our most anticipated international good-news stories. We get it. We really do. Barely clad firefighters, adorable rescue animals and a whole lot of good being done for charity. What’s not to love?
But while the photographs might be why many of you clicked on this article (no judgement whatsoever), the story behind these calendars is incredible. Since 1993, the Australian Firefighters Calendar has been using its popularity to raise money for animals, charities, volunteer firefighters and communities in need. What started as a fun fundraising initiative has grown into a global phenomenon, with more than 2.6 million social media followers and over R400 million raised for good causes. And the 2027 edition might just be their biggest yet! Photographed on Australia’s Gold Coast, the new collection features five different editions. There are dogs, cats, Australian wildlife and, of course, the firefighters themselves, who somehow manage to make cuddling a kitten look like an Olympic sport.

But the real magic happens when those calendars are sold.
The money raised supports organisations like Wildcare Inc, which rescues and rehabilitates injured Australian wildlife, and Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital, home to Matilda, an extraordinary mobile veterinary hospital that travels to disaster zones to treat animals in need. The firefighters also helped promote the Petbarn Foundation’s Rescue Mission 2026, a campaign that saw 1,955 dogs rescued and 615 cats rehomed. They’ve supported volunteer firefighters who lost their homes in bushfires, raised funds for animal rescues in Hong Kong and contributed to disaster relief efforts around the world. Their work is even receiving international recognition, with the team set to receive the Sino-Phil Asia International Peace Award for Humanitarian Service in Manila this November. Pretty incredible for a bunch of firefighters posing for calendars, right?
Before we get to the photos, we need to address the question we know our South African readers are going to ask (you do every year). Can we buy one in South Africa? Well, yes. Sort of. With a little creativity. Unfortunately, South Africa isn’t currently listed as a shipping destination. The team ships to Australia, Asia, Europe and the United States, so you’ll need a friend or family member in one of those regions to receive your calendar and forward it to you. It’s a bit of a mission but not entirely impossible.
Alternatively, you can enjoy the photos we’ve included below. No shipping costs or customs duties. Just a whole lot of very attractive firefighters doing very good things. And while we would love to see these calendars become more accessible to South Africans, we’re more than happy to continue supporting the initiative from this side of the Indian Ocean.
To our Australian firefighter friends, thank you for another year of doing good, looking good and giving us a perfectly legitimate reason to publish these photographs. And to our South African readers, enjoy the 2027 collection below. Consider it our little gift to you.
