Western Cape, South Africa (22 February 2023) – A young, hungry South African approached two police officers and asked them for help. Without any hesitation, the officers bought food for her entire family using their own money, and then gave her a ride home.

Naeemah Nadene Lausher Ross-Ring shared the story showcasing compassion and love a while back but it has picked up again on social media and is currently being shared by many.

Officer Mongezi and Mafaya were approached by a young lady, who asked them for something to eat. Without pausing for a second, the two officers offered and bought her entire family a meal.

“I met them at a local takeaway where a young girl approached them for something to eat without hesitation. They dug into their pockets and bought something to eat for her whole family at home.”

They approached Naeemah and her husband as they had been watching. They wanted to know what they thought about the situation.

“The girl was a bit shy at first and said she had no choice as her mother can’t find work. It turns out she lived in my neighbourhood and they took her home. They asked my husband to accompany them as they didn’t know the area. They took the girl home and met her mother and grandmother. She comes from a good family; they are just struggling at the moment.”

Naeemah was so taken aback by the kindness that she posted the story in the hopes that more people could read about the kind act.

“I salute these officers because not everyone would have taken care of the girl like they did. We need more people like you.”

The post has garnered over 20,000 likes and 7,000 shares.
