Rustenburg

In less than 24 hours, students from Rustenburg High School have gone viral for their incredible tribute to Freddie Mercury by performing Bohemian Rhapsody.

Rustenburg, South Africa – Chills are running down our spines… We feel like we just watched a South African version of Glee, the popular TV show about American high school show choirs. Rustenburg High School has set the bar high for South African school choirs with their rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody.

In the 18 hours since the high school shared the video, it has gone viral and left everyone speechless. The students in the choir have blown us away. The two lead vocalists have powerhouse voices and are ones to watch!

It was so great to see everyone involved have fun with the performance. We cannot wait to see what the choir does next. They have made their mark, and we hope to see them on an international stage very soon.

The brains behind the performance… Ralph Schmitt, the very same choirmaster behind every incredible performance by the now internationally famous Ndlovu Youth Choir.

“Gosh that is absolutely brilliant everything about it and definitely could go international – Freddie Mercury would be so proud!!” – Hilary Sandberg

“Wonderful…this is like watching a really good movie. Better than most 2019 releases…this is well performed.. great vocals…awesome video presentation…wow wow wow” – Fred Lynne Hans-Scheepers

We have played it over and over again! Watch the powerful rendition below.
