worker

Philip, a general worker at Laerskool Trichardt, has been studying hard to become a teacher, and the school is celebrating his efforts.

Mpumalanga, South Africa – Studying for your dream job doesn’t have to happen when you are eighteen. No rule says you can only study fresh out of high school. Some of our favourite stories are about the people that only follow their dreams later in life. They work with every ounce of effort to make their dream come true.

That is the case for general worker Philip**, who has always dreamed of being a teacher. Philip has been blessed to work at a school that supports his dream just as much.

He started at the school as a general worker and eventually worked up the nerve to study to be a teacher. Philip told the school about his studies, and they embraced his decision. When it came time for Philip to do his teaching practicals, the school welcomed him into the classroom.

The school staff, learners and parents, have all been cheering Philip on. Come the day he graduates; he will have hundreds of people applauding his efforts.

“We are proud of you Philip and all the learners love and respect you!!!”

People are admiring his dedication to completing his education, many saying he is proof that you are never too old to get an education.

“Mooi Philip trots op jou!Gaan definitief ‘n goeie onderwyser wees!” (Dear Philip, proud of you! Will definitely be a good teacher!) – Karin Greyling

“See it can be done. You are never too old. Really is great.” – Desiree Opperman

**We have reached out to the school to get Philip’s full name & will update accordingly.
