Firefighters, paramedics and security company personnel answered an emergency call and ended up helping to delivery a healthy baby!


Edenvale, South Africa – Mamba Security Area Manager, Brett Napier has become a hero after successfully assisting a pregnant woman in distress. Their control room received an emergency call from a pregnant woman who had gone into labour.

“Brett, A.K.A “Chase” received a different kind of emergency call this afternoon. A women was going into labour on 7th Street, Edenvale, and required urgent assistance!”

Brett rushed to her home along with the Edenvale Fire Brigade to assess the situation and both parties agreed it would be best to transport her to the fire station.

“Brett arrived to assist the mother, along with the Edenvale Fire Brigade. It was decided to transport the lady to the fire station where Brett assisted the fire department with delivering the baby.”

The baby was in no mood to wait for the hospital and entered the world shortly after the emergency team got mom to the fire station.

“A few minutes later, a healthy baby boy was introduced to his mother, along with a crowd of very excited emergency services personnel including Emer-g-med, Edenvale CPF and CPG.”

Both mom and baby were then taken to a nearby hospital and all has ended with a very exciting but happy birth story.

The community have been overjoyed by the news of the healthy baby and are so happy all ended off so well. They are calling Brett a hero for lending a helping hand during what must have been a very stressful moment for mom.
