The Port Alfred Soup Kitchen has had a very busy year feeding all those in need; they have been blessed by several incredible donors.

Port Alfred, South Africa (20 December 2021) – The Port Alfred Soup Kitchen was founded in 2003 and has made a meaningful contribution to people in need over the years. During the pandemic, the soup kitchen has made even more of an impact.

The organisation operates from “Harris House”, which was donated to them in 2003. They have worked to feed people every single day.

“We provide an extremely healthy and vitamin-enriched soup together with bread & buns. We get a lot of our bread, buns and also veggies donated to us by the various supermarkets in Port Alfred. We also have to purchase of lot of bread depending on the quantities being donated for each feeding day.”

Thanks to continued support, the soup kitchen has been a busy place! From fresh vegetables donated by farms to snacks and treats donated by local supermarkets and stores. Each donation has meant a full belly over the festive season.

The soup kitchen can be found at 42 Van Der Riet St, Port Alfred. If you would like to support them, you can do so via Facebook here. They welcome donations of food, clothes, toys, toiletries, and money. If you have anything to offer over the festive season, reach out!
