A photograph of a wedding couple who visited a Shoprite Superstore is going viral… and the reason behind is quite beautiful.

The picture of the couple which was shared on social media this week shocked users who were surprised at the unusual venue selection for the couple’s wedding.

Social media was set alight with assumptions… one user even tweeted that the bride had made a stop at the store to show her wedding party off to a rival.

The truth is far from that… and proof that you can’t always believe what you see on social media.

Times Media Group spoke to a Shoprite spokesperson Sarita Van Wyk who said that the picture was in fact real and was captured at a Shoprite store in Botswana on Sunday‚ September 25.

“The photo depicts members of the wedding party of Onalenna Gaewe‚ a bakery assistant in Shoprite Maun‚ Botswana‚ who was married on Sunday‚ 25 September at a church in town‚” van Wyk said.

“On the request of some of her colleagues who were not able to attend the wedding‚ Onalenna and her bridegroom agreed to pay a quick visit to the store on their way to the reception venue to visit colleagues who couldn’t attend the wedding due to work.”

Van Wyk said the the newlyweds were currently on honeymoon and would return to work on October 3.
