What began as one man’s coping mechanism for online sadness has evolved into a global kindness revolution.
Global (06 October 2025) – There’s a corner of the internet where trolls lose and kindness wins… and it’s changing lives one comment at a time. It’s called The Kindness Mob, and it’s exactly what it sounds like: a digital movement where hundreds of strangers flood social media with positivity, encouragement and love.
At the heart of it all is Tyler Brickley, a content creator who started the project on the 1st of January 2023 after, as he puts it, “reaching a critical moment of sadness after being online.” What began as one person’s effort to bring light into a dark digital space has grown into a thriving global community that’s rewriting the rules of the internet.
“We raid nominated videos anonymously with hundreds of kind comments. Our mission of ‘Kindness for everyone, always’ started when I reached a critical moment of sadness after being online,” Tyler explains.
“I saw how easy it was for people to jump on the bandwagon of hate if they saw other mean comments, and I started wondering if we could have a kindness bandwagon instead; besides, the music on our wagon is better, and we have snacks, too!”
The Kindness Mob is run entirely by volunteers, ordinary people choosing to make an extraordinary difference. Since launching, the community has “mobbed” 163 people, leaving over 100,000 positive comments across social media platforms. That’s 100,000 reminders that the internet doesn’t have to be cruel to be powerful.
Joining the mob is simple. Every day, Tyler posts a new video explaining who’s been nominated, someone who could use a little extra love or encouragement, and why. Then, the mission begins: raid the comments with kindness. The only rule? Be genuinely kind. And don’t say you’re part of The Kindness Mob. The magic lies in the mystery… making people believe that good still exists naturally, without being orchestrated.
The best part is you can nominate anyone.
A struggling friend. A hardworking teacher. A small creator battling negativity. Or even yourself, if you need a reminder that you’re worthy of kindness too.
It’s proof that small gestures can create huge ripples. That one kind comment can change the tone of a thread, a feed, even someone’s day.
The internet may often feel loud, angry, and divided but Tyler and his community are quietly proving that it doesn’t have to be.
Watch the videos and read the comments. It will give you all the feels!

@kellyannehowePlease do something kind in honor of my grandson ONYX today. If you take a video please tag me. The grief I feel is so immense I can’t even explain. Knowing you are doing something for my sweet boy brings me peace. ONYX was diagnosed d with ATRT BRAIN CANCER AT AGE 4 months. He lived to be two years old 💔♬ snowfall – Øneheart & reidenshi
