After becoming the first South African to host the Grammys and the first comedian to keep it up for five successful runs, Trevor Noah will host the most prestigious music awards ceremony for one last time this year.
Global (15 January 2026) – The news was confirmed by CBS earlier this week, and later shared by the official Grammys platform.
“I am beyond thrilled to welcome Trevor Noah back to host the Grammys for his sixth, and sadly, final time,” executive producer Ben Winston said, as per LA Times. “He’s so smart, so funny, and such a true fan of the artists and music,” added Winston. “His impact on the show has been truly spectacular, and we can’t wait to do it together one last time.”

The news dropped weeks after Trevor released a full stand-up special on YouTube! It was filmed in Tshwane and marked his first South African special in about eight years.
There’s more. Not only will one of South Africa’s most successful and internationally-recognised comedians host the Grammys for a sixth and final run this year, he might just receive one!
Noah is up for an award for his audio narration of his book, Into the Uncut Grass. Other nominees in the category include Dalai Lama, Kathy Garver, Ketanji Brown Jackson and Fab Morvan.
Noah isn’t the only South African flying the flag high at this year’s event.
Tyla has been nominated for Best African Music Performance for her hit single Push 2 Start. If she wins, it’ll be her second Grammy in the same category, after she took the title with her hit track ‘Water’ in 2024.
The Grammys will take place next month, on the 1st of February, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
