Opera Uber

Kim Davey hopped into her Uber with the goal of getting to her next destination, but she never dreamed it would be the trip of a lifetime!

Durban, South Africa – Kim Davey was on her way to a meeting, she called an Uber and hopped in, thinking it would be just another trip. Only, this trip would be very different from any she has had before.

Menzi Mngoma arrived to pick Kim up. Menzi and Kim started chatting, and she learned that he was a musicology graduate with an incredible talent. He loves to sing Opera. Kim asked Menzi to show her his talent, and she spent the rest of her trip sitting in awe of him.

“My uber driver this morning in Durban, Menzi Mngoma, a 27-year-old musicology graduate, sang opera to me on the way to my meeting! Made my day! No opportunities for him in South Africa, he has resorted to being an Uber driver to earn a living. What a talented and special human being. Any agents out there who could assist him in making his dreams come true….message me!”

Kim now hopes to help Menzi get recognised and find an opportunity for him to use his talent as his way to earn an income. She put a video of him singing online and has asked that anyone who can assist, please message her.

If you know of someone who can broaden Menzi’s horizon, you can message Kim via Facebook here. Take a look at his talent below.
