A dog mom had to give up her beloved Hunter because of very tough circumstances. From a distance, she still sent him love and gifts until he found a new forever home. Hunter didn’t get a new home. Instead, he got something even better.

Gauteng, South Africa (09 June, 2023) — When Arlene Van Staden made the decision to part with her beloved dog Hunter, it marked one of the toughest days for both of them.

Due to hard circumstances in her life, Arlene did what she thought was best for her good boy and so she reached out to Bull Terrier, Adora-Bull Rescue and Rehabilitation to give him a better life until she could.

Arlene promised that she would take Hunter back in a heartbeat when her circumstances changed and “she was back on track emotionally and financially,” as Adora-Bull shared.

However, the option for Hunter to be rehomed and find new parents was on the table. It was a heartbreaking thought, but one that Arlene was willing to accept if her life didn’t turn around before then.

Throughout the separation, Arlene sent Hunter all the love she could as well as gifts and spoils, never giving up on him even if it meant being in his life from a distance.

Over a year would go by, and Hunter would remain with Adora-Bull. He didn’t get an offer to be part of a new family. Instead, he got something even better.

Last Saturday, Arlene stopped by for more than a hello. She’d found Hunter’s next home—back with her.

“Both human and dog’s dream came true. It was all meant to be as Arlene and Hunter were reunited,”—shared the Adora-Bull team.

The two started their new life together in a heartwarming moment that has us all chopping onions, with Arlene sharing that it was the best day of her life in one year, one month and 6 days.

The Adora-Bull team is always on the lookout to help bullies in need. Find out more about their awesome initiatives (including virtual adoptions).
